Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1: Why this is the king of the budget segment

The Taiwanese brand came to the Indian smartphone market this year with a bang when they launched their latest budget killer Asus Zenfone Max pro M1 in late April. It has longer specs compared to its name itself. Jokes apart, it was a much-needed call from Asus to stay in the Indian smartphone market after a not much effective 2017. The phone is the first ever smartphone from Asus to come up with stock Android UI, and the user response is massive for the call.

It basically came with an aspect be the Redmi Note 5 Pro killer, and was quite competitive but couldn't be on the top because of comparatively low optics section. Though it has given way better specs than the Chinese giant but was a bit shorter.
The build quality is quite impressive with the metal back and plastic at the top and the bottom portion of the phone for the radio signals. The most important thing, it does not have a camera bump like its rival RN5 pro.

Coming to the specs, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Soc to give the fastest possible user experience in its price segment. So far 5 smartphones are launched with this chipset, but it is the cheapest among all of them. In fact, Asus ZFMP is giving 3/32 variant of the phone in just 11k, which is quite impressive and shocking at first look. No other is close to this price with their fellow smartphones. It comes with Adreno 509 GPU which helps users to get a smooth gaming experience.
In the display section, it has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 403 PPI pixel density. The display is crisp and punchy in real-world usage. The brightness goes 450 nits that make it better under sunlight. The resolution carried by the display is 2160x1080. Though it doesn't come with any kind of glass protection but the 2.5D curved glass is pretty strong to defend the display from minor scratches and cracks.
You'll get three ram variants and two storage variants of this phones in the market. The base variant of 3/32 GB of ram and storage option, the mid variant with 4/64 and the upgraded 6/64. All of them comes in three color option now. The Deep-sea Black, the Meteor Silver and Blue.
The phone has an impressive (on paper) optics section with 13+5 MP dual rear camera and an 8 MP front shooter for selfies. The apertures of the cameras are 2.2, 2.4 and 2.4 respectively. In the 6 GB variant, it upgrades and becomes 16+5 and 16 in the front with apertures 2.2, 2.4 and 2.0 respectively. Looks quite impressive but users have complained about its low light performance and image quality, maybe because of it's unusual camera UI. In the video section, it can record up to 4k DCI which also is a good thing but doesn't provide any image stabilization. It does give a better bokeh mode pictures with 5 MP depth sensor.
The remaining beauties of the phone lie in its massive 5000 maH battery, which, according to the company, can last for two days,
the dedicated micro SD card slot, dual 4G VoLTE support at a time, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, 5 magnet NXP smart amplifier support, which has a better sound output, a 10W fast charger with micro usb cable, stock android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box.

Now the main point why this smartphone has become the king of its segment. Seriously no other phone will provide these features altogether. Either you'll miss the 636's immense power, or the 5000 maH big battery, or the stock UI, maybe the triple slot, or at last, the price. You definitely have to be careful while looking at other smartphones about what extra they can provide you.
