Huawei's sub brand Honor has come up with their latest flagship smartphone with the slider mechanism for the front cameras. This will be the first slider camera from the brand and they have taken the concept to the next level as the slider does not contain one or two cameras. It has three lensess for selfies all under the slider. It also have impressive specs to look at with the glossy back and full view display.

Design as display:

The Honor Magic 2 has glossy glass back with two-colour gradiant finish. In the front side, it has a 6.39" Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 1080x2340 pixels resolution and 403 PPI pixel density. The screen also contains the optical fingerprint scanner under it. The phone will have no notch or big bezels and will be considered as a full view display without the slider.

Performance:

Performance wise the smartphone will be a beast. Because this smartphone will be carrying the first 7 nm processor in it like the Huawei Mate 20 series, which is the Kirin 980 SoC. It is packed by AI functionalities and has a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for better AI processing. This is an octa core based CPU clocked at 2.6 GHz with 4 Cortex A76 and 4 Cortex A55 cores. The processor is supported by the Mali-G76 MP10 GPU for graphics processing. It runs on the 9th version of EMUI based on Android Pie. So also software wise this will be king in its segment.

Cameras:

The Honor Magic 2 will have 6 cameras, with triple cameras on both, front and rear side. The rear side will have 24+16+16 MP sensors while in the front it will have 16+2+2 MP setup. The 24 MP sensor will work as with monochrome sensor while one of the 16 MP ones will work as the main camera with the RGB sensor and the other one will be playing the role of ultra wide angle lens. In the front side, both the 2 MP lenses will be the depth sensors and the third one will be used for selfies. There is a question about using pair of depth sensors in the front side but not one in the rear. The camera sensors support Full HD recording with 30 fps and HD recording with 480 fps. So we can also see the slow motion videos with the Honor Magic 2.

Variants and pricing:

The colours are quiet impressing for the Honor Magic 2 which comes with gradiant finish. This is available with blue, purple and black variant. The pricing will also be competing as the base variant is launched with a price tag off $545 with 6GB ram and 128 GB storage option. We can also get the 8 GB ram variant with 128 or 256 GB storage options which are priced at $615 and $650 in China. But the Indian pricing must be close to 40,000 INR if the brand wants success.

Battery and others:

The Honor Magic 2 will have all the necessary sensors like dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS and NFC. It will also feature the regular features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot and Bluetooth 5.0 with IR based face unlock and 40W (10V/4A) fast charging with USB type C port. Most importantly, it will carry a 3500 maH battery under it that can easily last for one day with its AMOLED screen.
That's all for the Honor Magic 2 and we hope that we can see more phones on this budget but without the slider technology as this prevents them from getting the official IP ratings and for a $500 phone, it should be included definitely.
