Oppo R17 Pro coming to India very soon, Snapdragon 710 and triple rear cameras will be the highlights

      Oppo is doing nice in 2018. At least we got some relief from old hardwares and getting good overall features now with respect to the price. But the most premium phones from Oppo, which are released in their "R" series never came to India. Be it the R15, R17 or the earlier phones. Recently Oppo announced that they are going to launch its latest R17 Pro in India. Here are the specs for the Oppo's new launch in India.

Design & display:

     As mentioned before, Oppo's R17 Pro is one of their most premium devices after the Find X. That's in its looks and features too. The R17 Pro has a premium glossy look with bright colours in the back side of the phone. In the front side, it has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ notched (waterdrop) AMOLED panel with 1080x2340 resolution. It gives the display a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with 402 PPI pixel density. The display will also carry the optical fingerprint scanner under it and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Performance:

     The Oppo R17 Pro will be carrying the Snapdragon 710 by Qualcomm under the hood. That's the first 700 series chipset from Qualcomm to provide the fastest performance with decent battery life. The sd710 is an octa-core based 10 nm processor with 2.2 GHz clock speed. It also has the Adreno's 616 GPU, made by Qualcomm itself, for better graphics experience. While the smartphone will be running on Android Oreo (8.1) out of the box still at the end of 2018. Hope the company gives the latest software by OTA services. It will have the Color OS 5.2 upon it that'll allow the users to do some necessary customization.

Cameras:

      Cameras will be one of the USPs of the Oppo R17 Pro. As it has a triple camera setup on the rear side, it'll have an edge upon its other competitors. The main camera here will be a 12 MP RGB sensor with variable aperture of f/1.5 to f/2.4 like the Galaxy S9 plus and Note 9 by Samsung. The secondary 20 MP lens with f/2.6 aperture will work as a depth sensor only and no wide angle will be included as the third sensor here will work as a 3D scanner for any object. This is the first time a smartphone will have this kind of feature in India. So we don't have a clear idea about the function of the third sensor till now. Maybe it will be cleared after the launch of the phone. Apart from these, the main camera of the phone will be packed with dual pixel technology and OIS feature. In the front side, it has a 25 MP selfie shooter under the notch area with f/2.0 aperture.

Variants and pricing:

       The Oppo R17 Pro has been announced with 8 GB Ram and 128 GB storage version in China. And it is also expected to be launched in India with the same configuration. The colour options for the device will be interesting. The options are as following: Stream Blue, Radiant Mist, Emerald Green.

Battery and others:

      The phone will have all other specs like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot Bluetooth 5.0 with USB type C port and all the necessary sensors in it. Though it will not feature the 3.5 mm headphone jack in it. It will carry two 1850 maH batteries to make a  3700 maH battery support along with Oppo's famous SuperVOOC charging technology that promises to charge the device to 40% in just 10 minutes. So it will definitely be a great combination of good battery life with the fastest charging in one solution.

      At last, the Oppo R17 Pro has to be kept in perfect price bracket as the Indian smartphone market is very price sensitive. And the R17 Pro's Chinese pricing (CNY 4299) compares almost 43,800 INR in India. In that price segment, OnePlus has already made a good impression with its value for money products. And their latest launch, the OnePlus 6T is priced at 37,999 INR which includes the sd845 by Qualcomm. So Oppo must keep the pricing for R17 Pro under that price range. Well, the final pricing will be known on the 4th of December in the launch event of Oppo held in Mumbai.
